How wide is an Escort axle?
I keep seeing that an Escort axle is 50 inches wide.
Is that from drum to drum or the tube measurment.
I am looking at a Dolomite one that might be too wide ,I think.
But has the diff ratio I want.
I need to confirm the width.

I think the escort ones are 48.5" mk3 capri ones are 52" pretty sure thats flange to flange ie where the wheels bolt to

ps how wide is the dolly one it should be ok there was an early tiger that used dolly sprint as a donor think they made about 6 0f them

My escort axle was a good fit over a 48inch wide board - the back plates are stepped so that at their widest point, i.e at the bottom, the step just
rested on the board.

The Dolly one is 53 1/2 wide.
Will have to measure mine to be sure.

The actual axle tube on an Escort is 48" accross the axle tube ends, this actually neat fit on the book chassis, wider is better.

I've measured my axle which has a disc setup fitted.
It is 53 1/2 inch so the Dolly one looks like it will work.
