Professional OBD2 Tool

Can anyone put me on to a professional software package or standalone device that gives comprehensive diagnostics on a wide range of vehicles. I'm fed up of these cheap, promise all, China import crap offers.
It has to handle European vehicles from the Ford, Vauxhall Etc. range and also Asian models like Hyundai, Kia Etc.
It must be capable of diagnostics AND reset of General engine, Air bag, ABS, etc.

Price is not an issue for the right piece of kit ........

Thanks
RD

Most USB dongles are clones of the elm chip and aren't proper clones so may or may not work on particular vehicles or are not fully software compatible with the ELM chip. In addition the Bluetooth ones have additional problems. This type of interface won't generally give access to fault codes other than basic standardised P codes (ie power train that could effect emissions ) BUT for £12 quid or off eBay they are a very good buy for occasional user.

depends if you only want to do the engine or every thing

the launch does just about every thing and snapon do one bit pricey though.

engine only have a look here
http://www.obdkey.com/index.asp

but will not do cars pre 2002 or vans pre 2007 my experience anyway.

torque for android with that key is good

Launch, Bosch or Sykes Pickavant problem is you have to pay big bucks for coverage, updates & support

On the other hand Autel have just brought out a new hand held "pro" unit the MD801 http://www.auteltech.com/md801.htm that covers most manufacturers including ABS, SRS and auto transmission.

The other cheaper Autel are good tools at a bargain price with two or three units you could cover 97% of your needs without spending mega bucks.

Thanks for this ........ Their hand held pro is for the US market but will read basic OBD data for others .... Not what I'm after.

But the individual items seem to offer some way to what I am after and I have asked them for some further info and price, even these dont cover Hyundai which is one of my requirements.

Getting there

Is yours the USB type?
Does the software reset airbag, service lights?

I found the software on the digital kaos forum (there's a thread about not bothering with the 801) but i think its also available on the sealey website. I think they do a re-badged tool.
