I'm sorry, did you say something? I was distracted by your avatar!

I'm considering the Torque app too as I've heard nothing but good things about it. Were you looking at one of the cheapo BT Can interfaces from Amazon/ebay?

It will sort of work with the cheapo eBay bluetooth dongles but expect a lot of coms errors and not all OBD II functions work, also don't expect it to work on anything Ford.

The problem is with the almost clone dongles not the Torque software, buy a decent dongle and it will work properly.

Also be aware on some versions of Android on some hardware Bluetooth can be iffy.

works well on my 52 plate merc and 54 mondeo (pluged it in on the road test before buying)

the paid for ver is updated regularly clears fault codes and monitors in real time very handy.

I use it with a cheepo adapter and have had no issues, you can slow the comms down if you're getting a lot of errors. I've connected to Freelanders, and Jaguar X Types without issue. I've got a crappola Vodaphone 845 smartphone to run it on, the software does seem to get lots of updates with some added features and lots of fixes. It's great for the price.

Geoff

I use one of these with my DHD.

I've only used it with pre OBDII cars and it works fine, it would access much more data with a newer car.
Lots of gizmo's and graphical interfaces, GPS tracking, performance metering, exports to CSV, KML (imports to google earth) etc.

Here's a snap of 1 data stream (was checking my thermostat was opening correctly).

Worth a punt for £12-13
