right do u need a power commander to run the later bike engine like the zx12

No, if you keep the original ECU and exhaust system, albiet chopped to point down the side.

Yes if you change the induction and exhaust

No if you do not have an ECU as it has nothing to modify, in which case you need something else, OMEX, Emerald, Megasquirt et al.

SOME BIKE DEALERS HAVE THE EQUIPMENT TO BE ABLE TO ALTER THE STANDARD ECU TO ALLOW THE SAME ADJUSTABILITY AS A POWER COMMANDER

If you do have to alter fuelling for modifications to exhaust etc cheapest way is to have std ecu adjusted. mine was done on my zx12 road bike a few years ago. if i remember right cost about £50
