Drilling cage
Ive been thinking about putting a rain light on my cage to act as a high level brake light. Reckon i can get brackets etc to fit the cage and hold
the light however wondered about the cable and if this could be fed through a small hole in the bar so to conceal it. Is this recommended or should i
just zip tie the cable to the bar?

I would run it down the outside. Length of wide black pvc tape might be the needest?

My old MAC 1 had a full cage.
On that it had a hole at the rear for the high level light and holes at the front section for wing mirrors.
Could not gaurentee it would not fall apart in a roll over. Just telling you what I have experienced.
Track days ARE the best thing since sliced bread, until I get a supercharger that is!

Not sure but I think to check tube thickness in racing they are allow to drill a 3mm hole (I could be talking rubbish).. So I suspect you can. I am
planing on doing the same (only have a roll bar not a full cage).. a 3mm hole might well be all that's needed..

there is no way I would drill a hole in a roll cage in order to make something look tidy.
roll cages ain't about looking tidy, they're about preventing death. crazy fool

Yes but depends how big the hole is.. 3mm ID hole on a 50mm OD tube is not going to make a jot of difference I suspect..

drilling a hole without fully relieving it will also introduce stress points. You should also be drilling through T45 steel if it's the real
thing. That is very tough stuff. I wouldn't even want to drill it
