zetec blacktop with throttle bodies. ecu?

If i were running gsxr1000 throttle bodies what do people suggest i use for the ecu? And what sensors do i need on the engine? Im presuming throttle position, lambda sensor and some sort of air flow? Thanks

Depends on the ecu, and that will depend on your budget. Most people will tell you want a megasquirt ecu.

That will need as a bassic guide.

Crank position sensor
Throttle position sensor
Map sensor
Inlet air tempreture sensor.

Thats not exact as you could use more sensors and differant sensors to show the ecu what engine is doing.

+Coolant temperature sensor, if you use Megasquirt the map sensor is built into the ECU

The ford ecu would have as a bassic guide.

Crank position sensor
Cam phase sensor
Throttle position sensor
Maf sensor
Inlet air tempreture sensor
Engine coolant tempretue sensor
Lambd narrow band sensor

Newer engine have more still like map and knock.

As with all things in locoster land it comes down to budget and ability.

Where would you position the maf sensor if fitting throttle bodies?

You would need an air box / plenum set up with the maf on the front of it.

Blacktop ST170 + GSXR750 TB's + Omex 600 here. Had a MS on it before but thats going on another project.

Coolant sensor, the oem one in the top of the thermo housing, air temp sensor, mines just another coolant sensor randomly strapped to the bodies.. if you get the bodies with the airbox there's likely to be an air temp sensor in the box.
TPS off the carbs, or a map sensor which depends on your preference and of course the crank sensor. I prefer the TPS over the map sensor.

An AFR setup is handy if you fancy a bit of self mapping.

When you get the bodies they will probably come with the map sensor from the bike, its a tube from each body into one then onto the sensor. Depending on ECU they may have one built in or an external one is required.

All dead easy IMO, good luck
