Hi, getting my focus mk1 ready for MOT. need 4 new tyres, looking at good year eagle f1s

read good reviews, and pretty much decided, as i don't want budget tyres this year, as I'm sick of the wear rate.
Anyone got a bad thing to say about these, or tell me an alternative?

I have had Yoko S-Drive tyres on my GTI since I bought it about 5 years ago.. (obviously replaced them a few times)
I dont drive like an old granny and have never had any "issues" touch-wood!
Seem to wear pretty well and even work suprisingly well in the snow/rain. Perhaps a bit noisier than some, but I like them!

I don't usually go for premium tyres, you rarely get what you pay for at the top end. All of the premium tyres I've owned have been
ditch-hunters that lasted forever because they were horrifically plastic. My conti sport-contacts were nice but at about 4mm they were lethal in the
wet and rapidly wore after that. I'd look at something like uniroyal rainsports or maybe a khumo tyre. I've had good results from federal
ss595s in a similar size but performance later on in their life did drop off,

I have sport contact 3's on at the moment, I've not had wet weather issues but I agree with the rapid wear. They seem to be doing really
good mileage for the first few thousand miles, I look again and suddenly I'm looking at the wear indicators!
I will be buying them again though, or maybe looking at the sport contact 5.

I usually run Michelin Pilot Sports on my Audi (the factory recommended tyre) but at a grand for a set I took a punt on Falken 452's this time
around. They were over £200 cheaper on the set and I've been very pleased with them so far. They've got plenty of grip and are wearing
nice and evenly.
I've heard good things about the Eagle F1's too on lighter cars.
Also, do you consider Toyo to be budget? I've always run either these or Yokohamas (520's and then 539's, not used them since those
days) on my weekend toys. They do wear a bit quicker (the Yokos even worse) but they stick like the proverbial to a blanket. Just don't try
them on heavier cars as the wear rate just gets silly; a focus should be ok.
