new 7 wanted. ideas wanted please

i am looking out for a 7 again now. must be road legal etc. i have a budget of £10k but dont need to spend it all if not necessary. if it was your money, what would you go for, and any ads or links would be great.
i am thinking along the lines of an entry level caterham (crossflow,2.0vx or k series) or a slightly newer westy, (ford or busa powered really) thoughts on these please! thanks all

Personally I don't think you could do much better than an s2000 powered mnr? Why did you sell it?

I spent a lot of money on booze, birds and fast cars. The rest I just squandered.

How about a V8 Viento (Luego)?

in hindsight i should never have started such a complex build. its cost me a large ammount of money but i got a good price for it when sold.(well above my new budget) so i have cash to spend! and its kept me out of the pub for 2 years!

Is it really that difficult to get hold of a Westy?

A quick browse of pistonheads shows quite a few in your price bracket

If not, the strikers come in very light. Worth a glance?

there are various westys and caterhams on budget but i was after some thoughts on what you guys would look for!
eg would you look at the ex academy k-series caterham on p/h for £10.5k or the 158bhp dry sumped crossflow caterham for £8250 on autotrader. the yellow championship winning westy for £7500?
just after ideas on a possible good buy! cheers

Not that i have seen any for sale but i fancy quite a lot for that budget.

Turbo bec
Turbo cec ie 20det, 1.8T vag, cosworth, Supercharged 4age or ford or BMW.
Raw fulcrum with big power

For 10k i would want over 400bhp per ton.

Nice situation to be in. Enjoy it and take your time.

Track days ARE the best thing since sliced bread, until I get a supercharger that is!

A bit leftfield, but my toy car money would probably be going on FAIRTHORPE OTHER | eBay

A road legal historic racecar at a reasonable entry level. Goodwood Revival anyone?
More details here.

I guess its not to everyone's taste but.... thankfully I already have a project.

I am a bit confused. Just read your blog and it looks like the car was completed to a pretty high standard. In fact to looks very very nice.

The last entry was that on your visit to MNR only a few IVA issues were spotted.

What went wrong?

NTDWM but 2003 Caterham 7 vvc engine 145bhp track car very fast, roll cage not westfield | eBay could be a bargain and a k-series Caterham should not be that hard to get through an IVA.

Sorry to see its sold. Don't get an mx5!

I'd get a z3m coupe, all round good car, you can sprint it etc if that takes your fancy. Its as close to a kit as you'll get and the prices have bottomed out, they're only going up so a good place to put your cash.
