St170 sump

Iv shortened my sump today to the required depth, but now the alloy part of the sump is going to hang down much lower than the steel part. Can this be cut away or does the type 9 connect to it? I've tried to up load pictures but doesn't seem to work on iPad.

You can trim it back to sump level. The type 9 does not line up with the lowest two holes. You will also have to grind off a little of the ally sumps ribs where the starter motor fits.
