radiator??

hi folks, when i got my locost it had the pinto and gearbox, radiator removed, i've put my pinto and type 9 in but have no idea what radiator it had or where it would be mounted, would there be a 'standard' rad used for the pinto or is it going to be trial and error?, your help would be appreciated, steve

Most use the Polo alloy radiator as upright as possible, boxed in to force all the air through
Fan behind is prefered if it will fit
You have the option to fit an 82 degree thermostat from Burton performance
With a standard Pinto you'll be ok, if you tune it then the 82 degree thermostat and an oil cooler will help
I fitted a 42 twin row steel from Boston radiators but this cost £140
If you look for polo rads on eBay I think the 1.9 desiel is the largest capacity

I couldn't tell you what year that's why the engine capacity it was made to work on is a guide
Although most on here use a standard polo rad
You can have to little cooling, you can't have to much
If by any chance your engine ran cool its easy to remedy via thermostat or the racers trick of covering part of the radiator
The Pinto likes to run cooler than most of us realise, in most 7's it runs high 90's they prefer to run high 80's
