Wiring help needed

I've had time to ponder my megasquirt troubles with my Mx5 - and I'm coming to the conclusion that I've done something wrong when wiring the whole thing up
What could that be I hear you ask...........thing is , I havnt the faintest idea - fault finding is not a strong point of mine , and I still believe it should work , so whatever needs re-doing has got me beat .
It has to be something simple - can anyone help ? I'm a bit short-handed right now , and desperately need to drive this car to cheer myself up

I cant cut/strip and crimp , but I can still make tea

It's been hexed because you came over the border and 'stole' it.
What else can I call it? £50 wasn't it? Lucky so and so.
Hope somebody close comes to this damsel in distress' aid real soon guys.

Have you seen it working in a car or on the bench before you bought it?
Did you tested the squirt on the bench before installing?

Put it on a Megastim on the bench. Run Megatune or similar on your PC, and see if you can get it to work.
Dont forget that when on the bench, you need to set it to "fake" the trigger wheel or nothing happens.
Consequenly dont forget to change it back when you put the megasquirt back on the car! (or nothing happens)

If thats satisfactory, then check the car wiring.

Dont forget that when on the bench, you need to set it to "fake" the trigger wheel or nothing happens.
Consequently dont forget to change it back when you put the megasquirt back on the car! (or nothing happens)

I spent 2.5 hours remembering this when I got my MS out and started to test if before putting it up for sale.
All for the want of the correct setting when in test mode!

Just my 2d's worth.

I can lend you a Jim Stim, which can produce VR signals. PM your address and I'll put it in the post.

Where I'm at now..........

Moving / changing the TPS earth makes no difference
There is a steady 5V supply
There are no dodgy joints to the Megasquirt connector , and all loom connections are solder/heatshrink and looking good .

The next thing I have on my list of desperate things to try , is to pull the megasquirt off my Fury , plug it in , and see what happens.............

ECU swapped..........and I have a running car !
I was fairly convinced my wiring was good - although a second opinion would have been nice - and I had it in my head the pinouts were different car to car (but I was wrong again )

All that I have to sort now is a bit of an air leak on the TB's , and I will be good to go
