Gluing aluminium to GRP??

What's the best adhesive to fix aluminium to GRP? I need to fix some brackets to the back of the dash and don't want to drill holes through it.

Cheers!

Personally I would glass them on. You can pickup a fibreglass kit in halfords for a tenner.

we used to use araldite 3000 and something at british aerospace, it would tear the aluminium before breaking the bond,. however I expect that is a little extreme. The other excellent suggestion is 3M VHB tape, it is amazing stuff,...

Whoa, calm down pal It was just some tongue in cheek humour because the actual saying is "will stick LIKE poo to a blanket". Do you see? one is a reference to how sticky poo is, your reference is how well you can glue poo to linen?

I'm sorry that the joke didn't come across very well, but frankly having seen how you react, I'll try to keep out of your way in the future. Bit too serious for my liking.

Ah, don't listen, winter brings out the worst in everyone. I think what we call JB Weld would work, but Sikaflex on a keyed surface should be OK. Fibreglassing onto ally is a dangerous thing, but maybe when keyed would be good. Tends not to want to stick, which is why using ally moulds works so well when fibreglassing.
