Headlamp Wiring

I have just bought a new pair of headlamps for my Tiger Avon,unfortunately the previous owner removed the old lamps & all i am left with is the four wires.I dont have a wiring diagram so dont have a clue which wires to connect to new lamps.Can anyone help?

Is it a sierra loom?

Iirc mines

Grey black to side light
White to dipped beam
Yellow to full beam
Brown common earth.

Can double check at about 4 pm if need me to n

Test each of the wires with a ohmmeter and find the earth connection, by testing between chassis and each wire in turn.

Mark the one that connects to earth.

Make sure no wires are touching earth and put side lights on you should see a voltage on one of the wires 12V when tested between itself and earth with a volt meter. That will be the side light wire.

Do the same for main beam and dipped beam label them as you go, its a process of elimination

Or illumination You'll have to go back to the switches if you don't do it by the tester method.

Yes I was tempted to put illumination

GR indicator
UR dip beam
UW main beam
R side light
B earth

UR dip beam
UW main beam
GW indicator
R side light
B earth


Hoper this helps. UR is Blue red, UW is blue white R is red B is earth. GR Green Red.

Thye left and right sides ahve different colours to distibguish them on the loom. Hope this helps

HEADLAMP WIRING

Thanks,i have fitted lamps & they work ! i did not have any fires or melted wiring thanks to the help i recieved on here.I am very impressed with the great people on this forum.
