coil spring tester
evening all..
does anyone close to Harlow/Chelmsford or Charlton have access to a coil spring tester..
i have a few 1.9" coil springs of different lengths,
but i have no idea of the poundage..

The poundage/rate is normally stamped/engraved on the ends where they have been ground flat.

Drill press and a steel rule will give you a rough idea. Locost style

Set of scales for measuring the force, a way of compressing the spring, and a way of measuring the change in distance.
Drill press sounds like a nice way to compress the spring in safety.
I've not done it myself but as long as you don't overdo the forces it should be pretty easy
