Velocity - 4AGE 20v Supercharged - First run out

Just had the first run out in the upgraded Velocity having trailored it back from RAW earlier today.

OMFG! It don't half fly and I haven't put my foot down yet!

It's be slightly de-tuned to deliver 248bhp with a power to weight ratio of just 412bhp/ton from a 1.6 litre.

The power is totally linear, not spikey like the old 4AGE 20v VVTi delivery. Acceleration is therefore very smooth so you have to watch the speedo carefully otherwise silly numbers are easily obtainable on both clock and driving licence.

Enjoy...

I've now got a few bits for sale as a result of the upgrade so I'll post details in the For Sale section soon.

Any ideas what an OMEX 500 ECU with loom might be worth?

Also got some throttle body trumpets and a full set of ETB clocks.

Nice!

I just finished my 1.6 turbo, 332bhp and that is also rapid!

Abit silly for the road tbh love it though

Very interesting. Can you tell me a few things;

What power did the engine make before you supercharged it? Was it a standard engine?

Did you do anything to tune the engine in it's normally aspirated condition?

What pressure does the supercharger deliver?

Beaver34; same questions for you too?

Jag, the engine was flowed and ported with 264 duration fast road cams. It was also running throttle body trumpets so the engine breathing was very good. It's also got a Fidenza flywheel so it spins up nice and fast.

I've got a dyno plot for 192bhp but the RAW guys thought that was highly optimistic. They suspected closer to 160-170 bhp compared to a standard engine which typically makes 145bhp.

The engine actually produced 260 bhp with the Rotrex (I'm not sure what boost its using) but as the bottom end of the engine is standard it was slightly de-tuned and the rev limiter set to 7500 rpm from 8250 rpm for longevity.
