The people who are selling it on our behalf didn't clean it, but they did put both sets of photos on!! So you could see what it actually looks
like under the dust!
Its going really well so far - really pleased, but figured there may be other people who are interested - hence the links on here.

Its never been listed on ebay before.
We did consider selling it, but it was only listed privately and we decided to keep it and try to complete it.
A lot of the work has been done by Spire Sports Cars - and a fair chunk of money thrown at it so far.
We took it on with too little experience or expertise, and figured we'd be ok.....

PS. The work was done by Spire Sports Cars, but we emigrated before the work was completed and it never went through the SVA / IVA. We weren't
sure if we would be able to re-register the car in Cyprus, so as a result it never was completed.

We were trying to sell the car, and it was looking likely that we had a private sale so it was removed.
This time it's definitely being sold through eBay.

We bought the car as a part built kit. We were advised not to buy it, as it was probably out of our league (apparently that was very good advice)
We didn't buy the brakes, suspension, diff or many of the parts.
We did a lot of the electrics - initially we couldn't get it to run. We got it running, and the lights working. It's been driven on
private land - not far - but that was a few years ago.
We bought the lights and a lot of the smaller pieces. I haven't been in the UK for a number of years, or seen the car. My dad was dealing with
it, and its been at a garage for a significant amount of time.
I'm sorry that I can't remember / didn't know initially. It's not dodgy....
I just thought I'd let people know.
Anyone is welcome to go & see it if they'd like. MSG me if you want to...

If people are interested, why don't they just give Paul at Spire a call. Really friendly guy and i'm sure he will be able to give some
info about the car. Much better than slating people on the forum and making out the seller is a liar because 'it doesn't feel
right'. This is meant to be a hobby and the forum helpful and friendly.

I don't think this is a Spire car as the chassis looks like it pre dates Spire ownership of the project. Being pedantic the car is therefore an
MK GTR.
I would be very surprised if Spire had done any work this car as I understand Paul has never fitted an R1 to any of his cars or produced a chassis to
take an R1 engine also when Paul took over the project the rear chassis rails above the diff area changed to being welded up straight tube rather than
bent.
(I MAY BE WRONG).
It looks ok and at under 6k could be a worth a speculative punt, any more and I would want to check the build quality and hear it running to be sure
what I was buying.
If an engine in a car isn't running I always assume its scrap.

Not sure if anyone called Paul at Spire. You're very welcome to do so & he has a series of photos from the work he did. He suggested all it
would need was a reverse gear and some tuning work for emissions on the engine. He also replaced the engine for us.
The auction is finishing in 90 minutes..... Be quick

It's a mark 2 MK GTR, it wasn't actually a Spire but has had some of the spire modifications I believe by Paul Nightingale.
I have no idea who has bought it yet, but I'd like to know when it's IVA'd and road legal - so will definitely be finding out &
staying in touch.

I see it's being re-advertsied due to timewasters... I know I'd not be happy if I thought I was buying a Spire (as stated in the ad), but
it turned out to be the earlier MK incarnation.
