MG Midget rear leave springs

Question is can i remove a leaf and if so which one is advised.
My original 1275 rear springs were shot so i fittted some 1500 ones which were going spare. The car sits high and is stiff. The 1500 had a very heavy bumper which mine doesnt.

Thoughts appreciated

In days gone by, I would have done this, but being older and wiser I wouldn't recommend If I were you, I'd get the correct springs for the car, there are plenty of places out there that can supplyu. Here's one for example http://www.mgocspares.co.uk/acatalog/MGOC_SPARES_REAR__MIDGET__204.html#l36

As above but you could try reversing one or two of the lower leaves.
