Videos from my Very Wet Elvington Trackday

Booked a last minute trackday in my Locost this weekend at Elvington airfield. It was meant as more of a shake-down than anything as it's the first time the car has really been driven in anger since it was completed.

There was torrential rain in the morning sessions which was, quite frankly, awful and meant I had to go to the local Asda at dinnertime to buy some dry clothes!

A few videos are below:

This was my first ever track day in this car so don't be too harsh on the driving style

One thing I did notice was that I was shifting at 6k instead of 7k; I couldn't see the rev counter - so I'll be fitting a shift-light over the weekend.

Didn't look too bad, other than a little over exuberance with the loud pedal.

That was wet.. what tyres were you using?

Thoroughly enjoyable (yet slightly moist) day - thank for taking me out as passenger.

Love the commitment you had mid-slide not to let off the throttle, exactly what trackdays are all about, finding every limit - much better than doing it on the road.

A good sport also for staying out all day despite the weather, felt very stable in the car given the torrential conditions.

The tyres I'm using are Michelin PX3s. Whilst not strictly a 'wet' tyres I was very impressed with how they performed. I get them for a discounted rate so these will also be my dry tyres once the weather gets better.

Here a few shots that capture the essence of a rather moist day out...
