Iva lighting questions
I've been finishing up my car and have hit a couple of snags.
On the number plate light it's shining slightly to the rear (previous iva fail at my centre). Would it be acceptable to glue a bit of trim
around the edge of the lens so it isn't visible? I did however break it when i took it off but I may have another at work (it came off our
tractor).
If i do need to replace the light it will be a real pita as I have to take the arches and tub off to get to the 2 screws.

The other thing I'm worried about is on the front indicators. I extended them to clear the visibility angles but the lenses are slightly larger
than the extension tube by about 3mm.
As it has a square edge what is the best solution? I thought about gluing a small ring of vacuum hose against it to give a radius or is this not
necessary and I'm just worrying too much? I realise in the manual it says if x is less than 5mm it requires blunting. Should I just take a file
to it to remove the square edge???
Hopefully someone can put my mind at rest.

First picture you might get away with a bit of edge trim.
Could you not put a rubber o-ring around the indicator?

Paint half the bulb with black paint so it only shines where you want it to ?

Just one comment.. I got picked up on my number plate light showing white light to the rear... It looks similar to yours... Just be ready to pack out
the top to reduce the white light if you are unlucky...

Dave, I think it was after your test I checked but done nothing about it till now
Rob, painting the bulb wouldn't work as the lens is below the black plastic but maybe painting the edge of the lens would work, I'll give
that a try and see if it looks ok.

Just turn the light unit upside down for IVA. The angle of the tub will naturally hide the bulb. There is easily enough room to claim your plate will
be placed above the light.

Looks like brake & indicator or not horizontal but pointing up compared with rear fog & reverse
And you don't have reflectors

Reflectors are either side of rear tub, small vertical ones. Its only the fog that needs to be square to the rear.

Hi
Remove the lamp & fit a new one using strips of wood slid
behind panel & wood screws, stick them on if you want.
for the indicators they look ok but to be sure a small ring
of a bicycle inner tube will lay nice & flat & blend the 2 edges
nicely

My fog light is vertical, I spent a lot of time getting that correct.
Rear reflectors are either side of the tub as said.
The indicator and brake lights have a bit of rubber u trim behind the light pod to make it flush where the arch bends.

really? Always thought all rear lights had to have lenses flat/pointing straight back?
Do those small reflectors pass ok?

A couple people said that they have and they are the ones supplied by mac#1.
If you want a pair they are £7.20 delivered. Just give them a ring.

There is a minimum required distance between the fog and stop/tail light. Check out the M1 manual and measure yours as they look close.

Only 100mm needed between stop and fog (not tail)
Reflectors can be any size or shape except triangular (reserved for trailers)
All lights except fogs only heed 50% of their apparent surface to their respective directions.

Just been reviewing the IVA manual for a few other things going through my head and noticed there is not accutally any provision against the number
plate light being visible from the rear. In fact there is a provision in there stating it is one of the lamps that CAN show white/yellow to the rear!?

To the rear will mean onto the plate, as it's against the law to have white lights shining directly back I'm sure
