Returning faulty Item - and they want extra money

Mrs has returned a pair of Cycling shorts that have split at the seam only 2 weeks old and worn twice !

They have gone up by £5 in the Shop and the have demanded the difference.

Correct me if I wrong but the goods were faulty

Surly sale of goods states its there job to replace or refund is that right ?

According to this, you are entitled to a full refund, or if you prefer, a repair or replacement.

Yep, they have no right to demand more money. If they had gone down in price would they have refunded you the difference?! Of course not!

Tell them nice try, but they are talking bollox!

Are you asking for replacement shorts? If so, not sure on where you stand with that...certainly you're entitled to a full refund...

When they demanded she pay an extra £5 for a replacement, she should have changed her mind and asked for a refund and then demanded the extra £5 to go with it

Sports Direct, doesn't surprise me at all. Not the kind of place I'd expect to get anything resembling customer service.

I'd ask for a refund, clearly their shorts aren't up to much and not fit for purpose. Buy shorts elsewhere.

Suppose they could have been cheekier(no pun intended) and sent you a needle and thread!

a new work colleague was working for Sports Direct, said it nearly broke her and must qualify as the worst company in the world to work for. and she was management!
