Need some help quick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Evening everyone.

I have a zx9 formula 27 and need some help. My car was build by the previous owner to be mostly a track car so is geared to do 100mph max and with track based suspension and brakes. This makes it massivley fast and handle amazingly well which is great fun but has got me thinking, are all BEC like this? Are any geared to do much higher max mph and are therefore less frantic? Ive never been in any else bike engined so was wondering if anyone was local or localish to me that could take me out to see what their car was like?

I'd love to be in another BEC.

Hope someone can help.

Kerr

100mph is no good for most tracks, even short circuits like Lydden and Brands Indy you will be bouncing off the rev limiter.

You need to gear for at least 125mph, if you have a sierra rear aim for a 3.38 live axle as high a ratio as you can find.

It was built for Knockhill so 100 was an ok max. It was supposed to be just about hitting the limiter at the bridge after the straight the.d

Up the gearing, it will still be just as frantic, just faster

Ask yourself how long do you stay in 1st, just a few seconds pulling away.

If the cars a live axle get a3.54 diff should get 120 to 125 mph approx dependant on your tyre profiles if it's a ind rear Sierra diff a 3.64 should be ok for about the same my striker with a 3.64 and 185 60 14 maxed out at 124 mph at 12000 rpm in sixth gear.

Thanks guys for all your replies. I think it would be worth while to look at chnging the diff ratios but would like to be taking out in another one to see what its like/how different to mine.

Hipefully someone will come along who has one locally.

Thanks again.

Jump under the car and let is know what axle?
Live or independent
If independent are the drive shafts push fit or bolt on.
If it is independent I would suspect you have a 3.9 diff and if that is the case you have several higher ratio options, 3.6, 3.38 & 3.14

Even with the worst ration you should be getting around 40 in first
But as said , you would be wise to gear up to give your poor engine a rest!
