Why are so many Type 9's sold without a gearlever ?

Are they in demand elsewhere or made from Gold or something ?

A rebuild of a type 9 costs less than that.

As for gear levers, most kit builders now sell or a include a quick shift lever as nes type 9 levers cost more.

The prices of these have been making me reconsider my ideas a bit of late, was going to change the xflow with a 4speed to a zetec with a type 9 but may go with a whole mx5 set up now engine and gearbox etc,any one know how well the gear box fits in to a book chassis? (Well a luego locost chassis which i am told is "book" dimensions as "they" came from the locost originators...or somthing lol)

Cheers.
