The Race Technology Dash 2 Pro (not not racetech....different company) will work with your own senders so I'm not sure where the £100 per sender comes from. What are you looking to measure?

And why do you need the pro version?
Or do you need data logging

I want the pro for the 8input lines, it's a new build so I don't have any senders at the moment! Just like spa race technology offer high accuracy senders, the only type I will use now after using them on the spa gauges.

Data logging, Ecu and EFi functions are on next years list, so dash2 pro is what I'm after.

The Race Technology senders are only accurate as they are configured on the Dash 2 Pro software from the factory. You can use any sender if you know what the resistance is at a specific temp (assuming Temp sender or pressure if a pressure sender and so on). It is easy enough to map the senders and program the Dash2. I did this with Ford units on my Dash2.

I've got Oil Temp, Oil Pressure and fuel level analogue inputs, everything else is read from the ECU.

I've got a dash2 on my Caterham, I'm not using any of the race technology senders, as mentioned in an earlier post as long as you know the voltage or restistance curves you can use any sender and programme the unit.

Cheers

Yeah, I'm using these with a dash2pro to do oil and fuel pressure:

100psi Pressure Transducer or Sender for Oil,Fuel,Diesel,Gas,Air,Water Pressure

they work fine. Interesting to note that they look identical to the race tech ones which sell for £120! For temperature and so on, as Jeff says, I'm just using the stock engine sensors (BMW in my case).

So you are only looking to use 3 analogue inputs, not sure why you want to upgrade the unit to 8. Remember Speed and RPM are done separately.

Boost will be from the Map Sensor

From Race Technology £80 +VAT

Oil Pressure
http://www.race-technology.com/content.php?pcat=2&cat=67

Oil Temp
http://www.race-technology.com/oil__water_temperature_2_65.html

This site has lots of information on how to use existing sensors on the Dash2 (will work as well with the Dash2Pro)

I will need,

water temp
voltage
oil pressure
oil temp
Boost pressure
Fuel pressure
Boost temp after inter cooler

And for future developments of the car...

Il have a look over the senders, if the software can calibrate that's great. Although they will offer a good offer on the senders when bought in a package.

What ECU are you using? You can get a lot of the information you are looking for from the ECU and not have to run two lots of sensors. Voltage comes from the supply to the Dash2Pro so you don't need to do anything else there.

Water Temp, inlet temp & boost pressure would typically come from the ECU (mine does) which leaves you with

Oil Pressure
Oil Temp
Fuel Pressure (do you want this on the display or simply have a gauge on the fulel like I do?)
Fuel Level (?)

It's CDI ignition so no Ecu being used this year.

Does your dash2 show fuel level aswell? Level and pressure would be good on it.

I basically want it to handle all my inputs this year on one dash.

What engine are you using?

You can use any analogue input you can think of so Fuel Level and Fuel Pressure is no problem.

Looks impressive!

Zzr1100 engine, il most Lilkly use emerald k6 next year. Pocket doesn't alloy so this year though.

So blow through carbs and CDI for now.

Do you still need a speedo heale or can you modify signals with the program?

Ditch the speedo pickup and use a wheel speed sensor, if you have a sierra rear hub, they pick up off the hub studs. You can either wire it in directly to the dash, or depending on your ECU input it to the Ecu for future launch control and logging.

Like jeff has said, if you get all the sensors for the engine and run them to the Ecu, you can then pick up all the data off the Ecu with the CAN datalink. Leaves you with minimal wiring going to the dash that way. And no need for duplicate sensors/wiring.

I use the GPS as the speedo....I have a hall effect sensor but it is a pain to setup with the English Axle. The GPS works fine although it isn't likely to pass IVA
