1998 escort 1.8 silvertop Zetec

Hi guys, picking brains again!

Just got a 1998 1.8 escort with silvertop Zetec. What parts do I need to take and save from it to mate engine with a type 9 and fit into my locost? I'm planning on running it with twin weber 40s and a nodiz system.
Thanks
Phil

Hi Phil,

I've just put a 1996 Silver top from a Escort 1.8si in my on-going Locost build with a Type 9 box running twin 45's, I kept the original flywheel and re-drilled it to take the new clutch assembly, I've kept all the sensors in place and removed all the inlet manifold. I fitted a smaller capacity alternator on the inlet side, and a smaller starter on the other, my Type 9 came with a housing which bolts straight onto the Zetec, just had to make up a new dust cover, Hope this helps...

Best Regards Ian
