Coscast VX 2.0-litre Red Top engine
Removed from a 1989 Astra GTE, this is Vauxhall Red Top engine has the Coscast head and has the earlier type of front pulley. It's thought to
have around 60,000 miles on it and was removed from a kit car. Head is still on block (with cam cover) and it has no ancilliaries. Have a cast alloy
sump with it and an old windage plate.
It was removed in error by the previous owner as he thought it was smoking. I suspect the smoke was actually due to the oil breather being plumbed
directly into the carbs (!) but haven't run it so can't say.
The crank rotates by hand but has the cambelt off, so haven't moved it too much.
As it's the Coscast head it would be the perfect base for a fire breathing race engine!
Not sure what it's worth, so open to reasonable offers.
