Denso alternators are really wasy to fix -- even replacing the diodes is quite easy.

You can get Denso alternators from just about any scrap yard. They are totally reliable, easy to fit (they do need a few modifications to the original bracket) and normally an extra wire. Once fitted you can forget they exist.

The one on my car was freeby almost 7 years ago. Bought a spare for £15 which is still in the cupboard.

Warning. Do not buy a cheap Denso off e-bay or any other national supplier. They are Chinese fakes and are made of cheese. How do I know, had 3 in a 7 day period before fitting the freeby. Spoke to Denso who with details off the sticker confirmed it was not made by them. Supplier initially refused to refund money but with a mention of Visa and Trading Standards quickly relented. Lucky for me the well known supplier was only about 2 miles from work.
