I've gone with red, red interior, harnesses, and a few other bits in red including some Welsh dragons!

Edited to reduce huge picture size!

If I was building new I would go for a primer grey or titanium metallic if possible and just keep changing my livery to what ever race vehicle I love at the time. It would work well for black as well.

Some of the WRC or world rally cars look ace. I would consider pinching crash helmet designs, racing bike designs, boats.

You get my point. Use stickers and don't get too attached to it.

Track days ARE the best thing since sliced bread, until I get a supercharger that is!

Is the cage welded into the car?

If not I'd be very tempted to change the cage colour to orange (or something brighter) to increase your visibility to other road users.

I built my Indy with a yellow body and it was still staggering quite how "invisible" you were to other road users.

I'm still building but am going with bright yellow against the black:-

The bonnet is not painted yet but will also be black and going to put matching bright yellow racing stripes down the middle all the way to the back.

Cheers
Tony

Kinda like this but without the yellow wheels:-

That's gotta be one of the best looking Robin hoods I've seen. The yellow and black really works for me.

Did some zebra stripes for a bit of a laugh before a Euro tour 3 years ago and have never taken them off. Quite like them.

I´d be concerned with yellow horizontal stripes or zebra/camo patterns as they may make your car invisible to less than fully aware drivers.
Alternating wide vertical stripes would be my choice or big chunks of one color and not so big (but not small) of another color

Maybe a boring answer but I think it looks really cool in all-black
