Decent couriers?

Can anyone recommend a decent courier that will collect from a selected address at certain times/windows?

I need to send a guitar and am struggling to find anyone without something going wrong e.g. yes they'll ship guitars but not over £1000 worth as insurance won't cover it. Or I'll find one but then they won't give a rough collection time. It's from my work address and sometimes we'll be out on site or out collecting materials etc

Or alternatively couriers that I can drive to and drop off (but not Royal mail/parcelforce)

Thanks

Hi

Have you tried specialist couriers, such as: https://breakwells.com/musical-instrument-courier/ ?

Cheers
Mike

I've found courier comparison sites such as parcel2go or parcelmonkey useful as you can fill in a form with the various parameters you need and they return lots of options that you can then review and alter. I've found, for instance, that for heavy car parts (a diff for instance) DHL came out best value and you can buy DHL through Parcel2go for about half what DHL charge from their own website. You can also edit the insurance value to add more (but quickly adds quite a lot of cost).

You can also get decent cashback on some of these through topcashback or similar

At work we use DHL who collect from us daily.

They offer uninsured and insured services. The insured services are determined by size, weight and (your given) value of the package.

On occaisons when we've had goods ready after their collection we've been able to deliver them to the local DHL hub (up to 8pm) for them to be shipped.

If you work on an industrial estate do you have a friendly business willing to let you use their courier service? (something we've done for people on our industrial estate before).

Another option....see if there's a member on here local to you travelling to where you need to get the item to and willing to transport it.

Thanks for the replies. Went with DHL in the end as I could phone them, got through straight away and they could fully insure it and collect within an hour. Arrived and buyer left good feedback.
