Does ZETEC need ECU with Twin40s

Hi, I have a Westfield with a xflow engine. I'm looking at buying a ZETEC engine. Will I need to buy a ECU and loom for the ZETEC engine to work if I use my weber twin 40's? Does the coil need the ECU to work? thanks.

Yes.

You need an ignition only ECU, something like a GEMS system, and a crack shaft pickup, the standard Zetec item will do.

Kind regards,

Darren

Or the cheaper options...

Megajolt Lt Junior live mappable ignition system. I can supply built and tested for £75 - just needs an EDIS module from a Fiesta mk3 (ten a penny in the scrapper)

or Escort Mk5 ESC module will run the car on it's own. Again, they're ten a penny in the scrapper and very easy to wire up, but downside is they're not programmable.
