Ford wheel studs
Hi all
I have a strange issue with the wheel hub on a TVR which I am hoping somebody on here might have the answer to. So the hubs are Ford 108 stud pattern
with 12x1.5 threaded studs, I want to add 10mm longer studs but when I have looked to order new ones I cannot figure out what size these are. Ford
spline size are either 12.5 which are to small and 13.1 won't even go in the hole once it reaches the splines. Does anybody know of a different
size. TIA Mick

This may or may not help as I cant remember the exact numbers!!
I had a set of lightweight hubs on my striker with std Ford studs. After a few years of switching wheels the studs started to spin as they had
stripped the ali hub. After a lot of searching I found lightly bigger spline diameter was normal on a Toyota. I cant remember the car but know it was
current as I went to a dealer and picked them up.
I thought there may be stock ford ones but just longer studs, they didnt work to solve my problem but remember Rally Design offering a number of
options. Have you checked the usual motorsport suppliers?
Track days ARE the best thing since sliced bread, until I get a supercharger that is!

Our local Autosave has a stock of replacement wheel studs, might be worth taking your hub along to a similar motor factor and trying some size,
it's often surprising how much these places have in the back.

Just go on Ebay and search M12x1.5 wheel studs and all the permutations with spline sizes come up. Most Fords are 13.1mm splines Toyota and Vauxhall
are just over 14mm perhaps 14.3mm. Drill the hubs 0.1mm smaller than the spline size and you will be surprised how hard they are to knock in. Just
converted my MGB to MGC PCD (43/4" and fitted (Ford) M12 studs for ease of getting wheel nuts. Two studs in the pack had splines that were
slightly too small, you could push them in with your little finger.
