What imperial madness is this?

Replacing the faceplate/transformer on a shaver socket in the bathroom. The two bolts that held the old one to the back box are too short for the new one. They're bigger than M3, but smaller than M4 (and as far as I'm aware, M3.5 is not a thing) so I'm assuming they're some imperial thread. Any ideas what I need to buy?

Regards,
David

Probably dates back to the house build circa 1991

yep 3.5mm is very common on uk mains faceplates. I think they are also used on bar 'pumps' for the name 'clips'

Reminds me of a very important project_Different collaborating engineers unwittingly working in both imperial and metric units. End result ...Royally screwing things up! (kindly excuse the the pun!)
