Sytec fuel filter

Sorting out my Caterham after a six year layup, changing all the fuel lines and I noticed that my pre injection pump Sytec filter has a rattle when shaken. the filter has been dry for a few years. Worth replacing? Any recommendations for a decent 10 mm input and out put?
Regards Jon

A rattling fuel filter doesn't seem right but I've no idea if it needs replacing.

If you're replacing fuel lines etc... and your budget can handle the stress then I'd just replace the fuel filter while you're in there

Like JAG, I'm not certain why a fuel filter would be rattling.

But if you're replacing all the fuel lines then I would replace the fuel filter too.

(My curiosity would then have me open up the rattling fuel filter to investigate)

Just a thought...
1. Does it have a replaceable filter element inside it?
2. Still wouldn't expect it to "rattle" if correctly fitted though.

Photos once it's open, please, so we can see what's rattling around.

I have a reusable Syvec fuel filter, it has a metal gauze cone inside. Nice bit of kit.

Worth investing in decent kit as you are refitting bits anyway. Thats generally my approach. Replace and improve. . .

I cover this in one of my episodes of my channel from some time back. It was a nice surprise!!
