is a 2.8i xr4x4 the essex engine?, if so i have just stripped mine down this weekend (car that is) so the manifolds are very handy to get at, what dimensions exactly are u after?-how far they protrude from the eng towards the inner wing(as it used to be)??!!

The Alfa V6 i'm using has three down pipes each side that are 135mm apart (centre to centre). The original ones are cast and very heavy. The engine is also used east-west in the 164 so one exhaust goes under the engine.

As the engine is now going to be north south, i am looking to adapt some downpipes to fit. Looking at some aftermarket Essex ones they don't lok too far off

3.0 Essex ports:
Just measured mine with a tape measure in a fairly dark garage, so accuracy is not spot on:

132-133mm centres, about 33-35ish diameter ports

Cheers,

Terry

Thankyou very much.

They don't seem to be too far apart then. Close enough for a small bit manipulation to fit.

Thanks again
