Common practice

I know several marathon runners and they all talk about the streams running down the road befor the start of a race. I would think it to be standard operating procedure....

Yep, common practice.
Most at the top level will just "go as they go".

Can't really see the point in running 26 miles meself.....they should introduce the use of scooters......now a few hundred of them doing the 26 miles would be worthy of a bit of tele......I know most do it for charity so don't start on me, i am one of those that see engines in things as a means to make our life easier.......so why run...

Nelson Piquet used to just wee in his seat during Grand Prix's. It was always the new boys job to clean the seat afterwards.

I have and would again

When you're running and you need to go you just get on with it.

I think it's a real shame everyone's focusing on such an insignificant part of her race. Particularly when she did such a top job.

Just my thoughts

Nick

It was not the first time a top athlete has had to take a toilet stop in London. Steve Jones relieved himself behind a sentry box at the Tower of London before going on to beat Charlie Spedding in the 1985 race.

I understood it was a splash and dash . They do it all the time in F1. I watched it on tv and she wasn't there long enough for a dump, she only pulled her gusset to one side.

yours, Pete

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

These top athletes have it easy. When I was running marathons 20 years ago My best time was 4 hours for 26 miles. Of course at my pace a toilet stop ment a visit to the porta-jon, maybe a short break for water look at tg=he babes going by.

I know a climber who also advocates the "..when you've gotta go.." phylosophy.

Trouble is he used to be a few hundred feet up dangling from a rope. Not that I can climb but if I ever was to go I would climb above him!!

He also seemed quite pleased about it

Cheers

Just remember, next time you're caught by the plod relieving yourself in an alley whilst waiting for a taxi after a hard nights liquid refreshment to quote the fact that Paula can get away with it whilst being televised, viewed by milions and persued by thousands.

I'm sure it will stand up in court
