Mobile EPOS/PDQ machine help

Ok, so this might be a bit of a long shot on here, but I've always had the strangest questions on here answered.....

I need to get a mobile PDQ/EPOS machine (the ones that take credit cards without needing to be hooked up to a landline). Anybody got a recommendations? As my suppliers on my regualr PDQ machines are useless and had no idea - I thought I'd ask on here.....

Hi Jasper

This is part of our company but I don't know whether they deal direct. No contact name I'm afraid.

I've only ever seen walk-about ones in restaurants/bars - I think they are on a WAN to a local server.

UPDATE: Like Eric says!

Eric - in the UK they only seem to make bombs and stuff like that - think the mobile stuff is in the US only....

And the rest of you - even less help ..

I believe Symbol make some that fit cradles. The cradle plugs into the landline/ISDN2 and the scanner is handheld. You just drop it in to charge like a mobile phone.

oooh symbol make good kit but it isn't cheap!!!!!

(voice of experience)

they are also geared more into the selling bucket loads rather than 1.

Saw some people at the last show with them mind you. Try asking S-V-C cause i'm sure they had one.

Jasper, drop Rhodri Moore (with the black Megablade) an e-mail, he works for a company that deals in credit card machines, mainly the manual ones but he might be able to advise.

If you need his email address then let me know.
