dB killer - anyone tried one ?

seems a cheap way to reduce the exhaust noise for track days. I know its for a m/bike but should work on a car ?

Did it really reduce the power of the car. I need to get from 99dB to under 98dB - 96dB to get on (and not get kicked off) most UK circuits.
Which type did you use ?

Dont waste your money, you may as well shove a potato up the exhaust, it will have the same effect, the engine will be quiet but very underpowered and
very hot. best trade off iv'e found for power/noise is a standard bike can.

They've been known for years as mutes in the bike world. I added THIRTY mph to my Harley Trike by removing them and retuning the carb to suit.
Only use if desperate.

How do you get it past the 90 degree bend?.
Or does it fit inside from the other end, ie its a Can on/off job every time you remove it.
Sounds a bind, and probably reduces power.

I've got one spare. Used once (to get from 104db to 100.5db for the SVA and then it fell out). Sat on a shelf now.
It is a can off job each time you want to put it in.

I bought one from a chap at a donnington trackday when my car was 104dB and needed to be 98dB. It took it down to 97dB. I think there good for a
quick fix but not the best as you do loose power.
