Can't login using the Login link

When I click the Login link at the top right of the screen I can give my username and password which are accepted, but it still says not logged in. To test, I went to a photo archive and it says "you must be logged in to view photos".

However, I can create a new post or reply to posts (or edit existing posts!), by putting username and password in specifically for that message.

Any clues?

Solved! My router has an option to disable cookies, which I had done. Unchecked that and it now works... though I don't like cookies as a matter of principle and have installed Cookie Muncher which cunningly allows cookies to be installed (so you get into the websites that need them), then deletes them half a second later
