Anyone work for a Range Rover dealer?

Perhaps you could help me?

My Dad has lost his ignition key to his RR and the local dealers here in FL want a ridiculous $55 for a new key.

Anyone in the UK able to help?

(Obviously I'll send more details if anyone can help)

Cheers,

Alan

Keys always cost a fortune if they got a chip in them. Have a look on ebay. Theres alsorts on there. Then just get it cut and programmed.

Guys, I've done work for a major car key/ignition switch manufacturer....I know how little they really cost.....even the newer ones....

The only reason they charge 55$ or 100 quid is because they can.....us mugs will pay it...I don't begrudge anyone their profit...but those prices are ridiculous.

IMO of course.

$55 bargin... RR dealers in UK will want more than that.

I had a jag, keys got pinched, full lock set cost £950.......

My mate had an Alfa, when the garage replaced the battery they lost the master code, new ECU required as it was coded to the alarm. a wacking £1500

Dont buy a key from ebay, RR keys are very complicated and need to be matched and programmed to the vehicle's ecu(one of many), the ebay keys will not work, they will open the doors but will not imobilise the engine. without getting programmed
$55 dollers is a fantastic price we are over £100 here for a new one.

Of course it is Steve, but that shouldn't preclude us from exploring cheaper options (if available) ..........if there is no other option, then they've got you, but right now my Dad is in no panic, so I'll do what I can to help him.
