bike engines

Hi all I am building a GTS locost and have decided to use a bike engine. What bike engine do you recommend? And what sort of price am I looking at paying for this engine?

Many thanks

You are best using search or going back through the BEC threads as this has been discussed numerous times before.

I,m building mine with an early 893 blade engine still good power with higher emmissions allowed for SVA as its a pre 93 lump.

A later engine will involve additional expense of CAT's etc.

These things keep their value so an upgrade at a later stage should not kill the bank.

your budget determines the engine you use. Cheapest will be blade and zx9, if you source your own on the cheap you can have it fitted and running for £600, including a prop. R1 will be over a grand, zx12 aproaching 2k running, and busa more still.
