LOCOST WEIGHT
 Evening all
Please could any one tell me what is the avarage weight of a ron champion pinto powered locost???
And is a the chassis and running gear good for a bike engine or not??
Any advise would be very appreciated.

would guess at maybe 550-600 kgs upwards depending on trim, yup very suitable for a BEC......

About 550kg roughly. Or thats my aim. But thats with no toys, no trim and as basic as it gets.
Add a screen, heater etc to the mix and you are looking more like 600kg+

My standard Locost with crossflow weighed 620kgs at SVA, no screen, heater etc.
Pinto will be slightly heavier.

Ours was 550 at SVA - no screen heater etc fibreglass seats...

My car was 550kgs WITH a screen, heater and Richfield RX777 seats 
I don't have a Pinto but the Mazda engine is a cast Iron block

Just weighed my progress so far. Quite pleased...
511kg (54% to front - aiming for close to 50-50 with me in it) for mostly panelled chassis with roll bar. All tranny and steering (minus props),
engine, box, pedals, brakes fuel tank, a seat, rad and few other bits. I weigh/estimate ramaining stuff to be around 110kg giving me 620 all up
including a screen! That's 4WD with a V6 . Bound to be a few more bits that all add up but I should comfortably meet my 650kg target.
Yipeeee....

Book chassis, pinto 2.0, type 9, Capri axle, reinforced back end, fully braced scuttle, braced roll bar, 13" alloys, steel fuel tank, full
padded seats... 700kgs with all fluid at max at SVA
If you can keep you head, whilst all others around you are losing theirs, you are not fully aware of the situation

620kgs (book chassis capri axle and a stuipidly heavy rollbar made from 50*5.5mm steel)with full fuel at the chassis setup, seems about right, would
like to get it 50kgs lighter

570 kgs all up with driver. that was at the SVA, might be a bit heavier now i got corbeau buckets in lol,
lost 20kg after SVA
