Body Parts

I have a TJ Locust that I bought a couple of years ago, mechanically its sound, however the body is in need of some attention. I have taken the main body back to the ally which has made a considerable improvement to the looks, but I now have this faded, matt burgandy look for the wings, and I dont like it. does anyone know where I can get hold of new wings and nose?

Big difference between a LocOst and a LocUst.

Theres a Locust owners club who may be able to help. If the wings are the same as used on a locost then any of the suppliers will be able to help...

locust

Hi gizmo.
Don't take any notice of the guys on here at this time of night, they are all pixxed.
Try BWE sports cars at 13 knowsley street, Barnsley, South Yorkshire,S70-6ET,
They do everything for the Locust.
Best of luck,
Regards Kipper

Whereabouts are you? Somebody local might have the tackle to do it for you or suggest someone. Painting's not that much of a black art.

yours, Pete

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

Its got to be worth trying to paint the wings first. As said before you can get spray cans mixed up by most bodyshops so that there shopuldnt be a colour match problem between the tins. Goos prep is the key to decent finish. Plenty of lacquer and some good cutting compound should result in decent finish.

Might be worth having a practice on one wing first.
