Refurbing Alloy wheels

Hi All,

Id like to use the alloys that came with my donar car but time has not served them well, they could do with being taken back to bare metal and repainted/coated. I'd like to do it myself - any suggestions on what to use and how to do it would be appreciated.

1) Take the tyres off
2) Find you local blasting company and take them along at the end of lunch and try to get them blasted for cash. Should only cost about £15 and will save a *lot* of sanding.
3) Spray them with a cost of Acid#8 Etch primer.
4) Spray your desired finish

I did my wheels DIY after getting a mate to blast them. Was a right pain in the arse. Ive since got a set of wheels done professionally on my BMW for approx £180 (Romax UK in Stockton) and they are great in comparison. In total the pro job didnt cost much more in the end and was very painless.
