how to shorten links

how do i copy a link and then shorten it so it doesnt show the full link.

if that makes sense

Click on the link icon (earth with a piece of chain) and it will give you a box into which you type what you want the link to be called. The second box that pops up will then ask for the URL of the link which you then paste. Clear as mud?

Those little boxes in the 'Formatting Mode' section, just above where you type the message or reply. Hit the Post Reply box and you should see it.
