5 speed type 9 stripping

Where can I find an online set of detailed instructions. I've a damaged tooth on 1st gear that is causing a knocking noise in 1st

If yours is a standard box you would probably better off just getting a used one for £20 from ebay or there is bound to be someone on here with one for sale.

If it's a quaife or something then you'd be better off getting specialist advice anyway.

I'm not sure if the gearbox strip is in any of the Haynes manuals but I do believe that you need a specialist tool to get some of it apart.

There is a Haynes book on gearboxes that covers the Type 9 in great detail...

cheers. guys.. Its a new BGH HD .. as I'm in NI I was going to send them the primary shaft to overhaul as its only 7 months old. Been knocking like this sinse I got it.
