I'm looking for bolts.....

5/16" x 7"
OR
8mm x 180mm

grade 8.8 or equivalent or lower, they cant be a higher grade,

threaded rod or plain 5/16" bar is also not suitable.

it has to be a graded bolt of the above specs.

Anyone know where i can get these?

I have tried a couple of places but to no avail

Many Thanks

EDIT:
perhaps i should've put this in WANTED

I was going to suggest Namrick, but they only have 6" or 150mm on their site.

Worth a phone call so see if they can get them though.

I know you say threaded rod isn't an option but what if you weld a nut on the end of some to make a 'bolt head'?

thanks for e the suggestions guys but it has to be a proper graded 5/16" or 8mm bolt with a portion of plain shank

ie.
i can't thread plain rod and weld a nut on
i can't use threaded rod

These bolts are availalbe off the shelf in the states, but i can't seem to find anything here.

There must be some engineering supply places in Milford Haven! Yell.com doens't give any clues?

Or try some farm machinery repair places, they'll keep some big old stuff for combine harvesters, tractors, etc.

You could try Clerkenwell Screws (you'll have to google them) - I used to wander in there with some obscure request (ooer!) quite often and they always managed to find something.

Hint: don't call them first thing in the morning, or lunchtime - they're incredibly busy!

You could try AHC Camberley tel 01276 709069 or PFS in Finchampstead 0118 932 8832 the later deal mainly in stainless but do carry other stock. I normally collect but both will probably do mail order

Why the 'soft' spec, yet not studding or threaded rod. Otherwise I'd suggest coachbolts.
