Crossflow Cylinder Head
I have got a 1300 crossflow engine and have been offered a 1600 unleaded head can anybody tell me if this fits ok. I am sure i did this in my MK2
escort days but cant remember as its been a few years. Thanks...

Hi
Yes it will, the heads on the crossflow are all inter-changeable. It should boost your performance though!

Note that some early 1300 crossflow heads had a combustion chamber in the head, rather than the totally flat design that all the later ones used. If
a flat head is fitted to a 1300 engine that requires a chambered head then compression ratio may be too high.
