I started my old pinto with out exhaust system, and that popped and farted like hell, just wondered if a bike engine is as bad.

if you have the bike manifold then sometimes this can be fitted upside down, or at least a short tube to take some heat a few inches from your engine bay.

I reckon that my silencer reduces the noise by 35dB. At idle, the exhaust noise is 87 dB. Without the silencer that would make it 123 dB. Without the manifold, when I first started my engine. It was LOUD

I built my car in my 80 year old neighbours garrage at the bottom of her garden. When I started my car for the first time, she jumped clear out of her arm chair in her sitting room.

WOW! That's the only engine I've seen where you can check the firing order visually!

I'd say it'd be pretty loud....
My V4 is loud enough even with the silencers on and it's got twin STM cans so theoretically twice the silencing of a single can system....

Still- it'd be rude not to fire it up just to see what it sounds like

I've ran the pinto and the v6 with no manifolds, sound nice. Look down the exhaust outlet, on mine you can see into the cylinder pure flames
