Paint

I've cleaned my diff with oven cleaner and it's pretty clean but looks oxidised so rather than wee about polishing it and have it oxidise again I want to paint it silver. What can I paint it with? Is there a POR-15 alumium version?

I also want to paint my newly electrolysed hubs etc. Is POR-15 the best stuff to use?

How long does any recommended paint take to cure?

Cheers,

Mark

Spray with smoothrite or use something similar.

Personally i dont like silver. It will look old quite quickly. The bits ive done matt or satin black seem to have stayed looking better for longer.

Caustic oven cleaner?

Make sure it's thoroughly rinsed and the caustic is neutralised or it will keep oxidising, rinse it with a weak vinegar solution before you paint it.

yours, Pete

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.
