my indy hates me
it must do. everytime i actually "need" the damn thing it breaks down on me.
1st time was last year, track day sorted, made it to the 2nd lap out and it went pop.
now tonight it was my mates boys end of school prom, all the kids get taken in random motors, limo's classics etc. his las asked if he could go
in my indy as none of the other kids had them!
was only too pleased to help out, spent all tuesday night checking the car over to make sure there'd be no problems, all seemed fine when i put
it away. came home tonight to get it out to take him and pop pop pop bang, running like a bag of crap. pulled the HT leads off 1 at a time, only
really firing on number 2 and number 4 when it felt like it. smoke pouring out the exhaust with the odd flame. pulled the plugs out, snapped number 3
plug. 1 3 and 4 where coked up big time.
after a couple of hours messing and the most gut wrenching phone call i've ever had to make explaining to a 14yr old that the car he wanted to
go to probably one of the most socially important events of his life was not to be.
i've concluded that basically i'm getting way too much fuel through, i've got a spark and the timing it right so not a lot else it
can be. had nothing but problems sinse i fitted the twin webers so they are being junked and the standard carb is going back on.
feel pissed off with the car but so much worse is the feeling i've let this lad down.
shoulda never built a green car!
built a car, built a home, had a family. lost the family, lost the home, still got the car.

Gutted for you. Not a lot you can do when things go pear shaped so late in the day. If it had had the decency to spit it's dummy out on
Tuesday you could have at least had the time to post an SOS and I'm sure someone on here would have stepped in to save the day.
If you junk the webbers you should get decent money for them, might be worth spending the money on some bike carbs and manifold. Once they are set up
they are ultra reliable. Loads of the rally lads are going down this route and are amazed at the improved driveability.

would anyone care to go more indepth with bike carbs for me? it's something i've never gone into and strikes me as a bit voodoo really!
surely i'm going to need some kind of management to run them?

Drop Jacko a u2u - he has put ZX9 carbs on his Pinto. I know the rally lads find them easy to fit - just sort a manifold then sort the jetting out on
a rolling road as you would with webers. Only difference is they are far more driveable and reliable.
