Redline help?

Does anybody know what a 1979 Ford Capri 1300gt engine would/should redline at?

I'm thinking i could ring Ford possibly hey!

Thanks,

Nick

When I asked this question ages ago (for my 1600GT x-flow) the general opinion was around 5750 rpm for an engine using standard fixings. That is, standard big end bolts, rockers, and so on. Also, the valves start to bounce if you go much faster, without better springs, and so on.

To rev faster bits need to be uprated.

Hope this helps - I'm sure people will have other opinions, so wait a bit for a concensus!

cheers,

David
